The different kinds of Transformations

Translations
It's a transformation that slides all the points of a figure the same distance in the same direction. A translation will give you congruent figures.

Reflections
A transformation that flips each point of a figure a cross a given line.

Rotations
A transformation that turns a figure around a fixed point through a given angle and a given direction.

Dilations

Compound Transformations
A compound transformation occurs when you are asked preform more tham one transformation on a single figure.
A transformation in which a shape grows bigger (enlarges) or smaller (reduces) by a given scale factor from the origin. Creats similar figures- same shape, same angle measures, different size.
